During the course of the interactive segment of the workshop, participants named five tasks that the Clearinghouse should achieve first. These are:
- define meaning and scope of clearinghouse: mission statement, goals, objectives (national initiative with an international responsibility)
- establish links to existing websites/databases
- create a structure by which to evaluate and collect data
- concentrate focus on FoodNet pathogens
- provide access and/or guidance to data that can be used in risk assessments
