	Lin, C.-T. Jordan, Sara B. Fein, and Alan S. Levy	Consumer Awareness of Safe Food Handling Label This presentation accompanies the poster of the same title. It presents charts relating consumer exposure to the USDA "Safe Handling Instructions" label on raw meat and poultry products to food safety perceptions and practices. It includes the relationship between seeing the label and: safe food preparation practices; knowledge of food safety incidents; and perceived risk of unsafe practices. Finally there is data on the effectiveness of the label as measured by changed consumer behavior and improved consumer education of food safety issues. 	Lin, C.-T. Jordan, Sara B. Fein, and Alan S. Levy	Consumer Response to the Safe Handling Instructions Label on Meat and Poultry This presentation was given at the APHA Annual Meeting in Atlanta, GA on October 23, 2001. It presents findings of a survey on consumer response to the "Safe Handling Instructions" label required by the USDA to be on all raw meat and poultry products. It includes the prevalence of consumer awareness of the label, the relationship between label awareness and handling practices, the relationship between label awareness and perceived risks of unsafe practices, and a discussion of factors associated with awareness. 	Lin, Jordan	Handwashing Practices Among U.S. Home Meal Preparers and Implications on Consumer Food Safety Education This presentation was given at the 2002 Food Safety Conference in Porto, Portugal, May 24-25, 2002. It presents the findings of a study on the psychological correlates of reported handwashing practices among U.S. home meal preparers, based on data from the 2001 Food Safety Survey by the USDA.
